We will be boarding our flight to Costa Rica shortly. From this point forward, we will be relying on wifi hotspots to update the blog. We will keep you updated on our trip events as much as possible. Please continue praying for God's will to be done during our time ministering--it's not about us! Once we land in San Jose, we will be boarding vans and traveling for 3 hours into a jungle village. Pray that we reach our final destination full of energy and power as we are scheduled to minister at an evening church service tonight!

On our way
Our team is currently in Miami awaiting the connecting flight to San Jose, Costa Rica. Last night we presented ourselves for our mission. Before departing, we gathered for a time of prayer and declared ourselves bound by the power of the Holy Spirit's peace, according to Ephesians 4:3. We are believing for God's power to keep us united but we are also committed to do whatever it takes to keep the harmony of our team. We will not hinder the great plans God has for the people of Costa Rica that we will be ministering to. While we may be sleep deprived from overnight travels to get us to this point, we know we can go to our Heavenly Father and He will exchange our tiredness for His perfect rest (Matthew 11:28).

ReplyDeleteHey there team!! Well you made it! I know it was a long and tiring journey traveling through the night with little or no sleep. I have been praying all day for a touch of super natural strength and energy for each of you! It's only the beginning of your journey and the time will fly by, so jump in with your arms wide open to what God has in store for you. Remember to be flexible, stay humble and be intentional. If you are feeling weak or unqualified remember, God does not call the qualified, He qualifies the called and you have been called for such a time as this. "Don't throw away your confidence, it will be richly rewarded. You must persevere so that when you have done the will of God you will receive all that He has promised." Heb 10:35-36.
ReplyDeleteAnd now for some shout outs: To your awesome leaders, Christine and Jeanette, I'm so proud of you for leading this team and I love you both so, so much. To my hubby Ray, I love you and miss you! Enjoy all the kids you will get to minister to, because I know that is your most favorite thing on Earth. Jenni, my lovey, you know you make me proud always!! I love the beautiful woman of God that you are!! To my sis, Donna and her hubby Brian, you have always been on the sending end of missions, but now was your time to GO! I'm so proud of you both for taking this leap of faith, and even tho I'm still a little bummed that you went on your first missions trip without me, I'm praying you will be super blessed by all you experience. To all the others of you that I know, Kelly, Octavia, Linda, Candy, Maritza, The Petersen's, Beira, Jordan, Casey, and Breanna, and those of you I have not met yet, I hope you have the greatest experience of your life. Go out and be Jesus with skin on and remember, "He that is in you is greater than he that is in the world." Goooooo Team!!!!!
Your sister in Christ, Brenda
Hello Octavia Taylor .....wanted to tell you he hopes you're having fun...... we're thinking about you...... We are so proud that you're doing God's work..... Taylor (we) look forward to seeing you in a picture soon.... love you.... thinking of the group..... XO XO XO XO.....
ReplyDeleteSo excited for you guys!!! Can't wait to follow along with all that God is doing through you and in you.
ReplyDeleteSpecial shout-out to Jen...love you, friend! I'm so happy that you have the opportunity to go on this trip and experience yet another country through Christ's eyes.
To Mr. B....have an awesome time just "being" on this trip...and make lots of balloon animals for the kiddos!
To Brian and Donna...I didn't realize until a few days ago that you guys were heading to CR! What an awesome experience to share, and especially while Erica is on her own adventure around the globe! You will all have stories to share with one another!
To Christine and Jeanette...I can't wait to hear all of the stories of how you two made this trip so much fun. I know you're awesome leaders, but I also know being a leader on a missions trip can be touch, so know that I'm praying for you!
To the rest of the team, whether this is your first or 16th missions trip...soak every moment in. To those of you who are photographers...make sure you put the camera down once in a while and experience it! It's terribly easy to capture every moment and not be fully present in it. Trust me! :)
You'll be back on US soil before you know it and this trip will be a memory, but the lives that you touch and the people you meet with remain with you forever!
Praying for you all!
You are in our prayers constantly. The pictures show us all that God is with you.
